Ben "Cooter" Jones, who is running for Congress in central Virginia, describes himself as "a staunch defender of the right to keep and bear arms." But the National Rifle Association gave him a "C" rating, while awarding his opponent Eric Cantor with an "A" and accusing Jones of "indifference, if not outright hostility, towards the NRA and the Second Amendment." Here are Jones' thoughts:


"I suspect my opponent would have trouble cocking a b.b. gun. And I am beginning to think that the NRA is giving the Second Amendment a bad name."
